Randy Moss has been waived by the Minnesota Vikings in the wake of yesterday’s post-game comments, according to the NFL Network. After falling to the New England Patriots, Moss’ former team , he told the world what’s eating him.
Here’s what may or may not have led to Moss’ premature departure: While wearing a Georgetown sweatshirt (he went to Marshall), he refers to Tom Brady as “Tommy Boy,” and pays his respects to Bill Belichick (all while not-so-subtly hinting that the Vikings are on the fast track to going nowhere). Oh, and he prefaces this all by saying that he will now be conducting his own interviews.
Here are those comments in print:
“It was hard for me to come here and play. Been an up-and-down rollercoaster emotionally all week. And then to be able to come in here and see those guys running plays that I know what they’re doing, and the success they had on the field, the running game — so, I kind of know what kind of feeling they have in their locker room, man, and I just want to be able to tell the guys that I miss the hell out of them. Every last helmet in that locker room, man.”
Let me be the first to state the obvious: bring him back to New England. Now.
We can put an end to the speculation that a fight over Tom Brady’s locks led to Moss’ New England exit. That decision came straight from management. Moss clearly has not found his “happy place” back in Minnesota. Moss wishes he was still on the Patriots ( 6-1 or 2-5…) and he can only blame himself for moaning about his lack of a contract.
Everyone outside the state of Minnesota could have seen this train wreck coming from a mile away. Moss basically just slaps the organization in the face with these comments. He does, as usual, keep it very real. Grammatically sound? Not quite. Brutally honest? Always.
